Saint Peter's Basillica

St. Peter's Cathedral at The Vatican - 21 shot HDR panorama.

You will be amazed at the stunning HDR Photographs you will learn to create!

Only with HDR (High Dynamic Range Photography), are images like this shot of St. Peter's Cathedral made possible. HDR is an amazing creative tool that creates a whole new world of possibilities in digital photography.

In most scenes, one photograph cannot correctly record the full range of light that is present. The HDR process uses multiple photos, taken at different settings to capture the full spectrum. Using a number of photos to correctly record all highlights, mid-tones and shadows, images are merged during processing with software that determines the best image data for any given part of the image frame. The resulting image can then be adjusted by preference to a particular HDR style.

Maybe the HDR look is just a little too unreal for your taste ... no worries!

With my HDR secrets, you'll create stunning HDRs that look real!

The HDR workshop will cover many aspects of HDR processing that will allow you to create that particular look or style that works for you. Some people love the painting/unreal look while others don't. The bus shot above is one of my favorites but my wife doesn't like it at all ... weird!

People see things differently and you will certainly see things differently than me ... it's all good! You will learn to use these new tools to add to and improve upon your work, specific to your unique vision. A thorough handle on the HDR process will improve any photographers artistic potential. You will be amazed at what the HDR method can do to enhance your capacity to create!

This workshop covers HDR image processing methods using:

            -   Adobe Lightroom

            -   Adobe Photoshop CC 2017

            -   Photomatix Pro (Stand alone program and plugin for Lightroom)

What you will learn from this workshop

Your entire approach and eye for photography will change with this workshop. It will seem almost like any subject can be turned into an awesome HDR creation. My unique approach to using HDR will provide an entirely new artistic look to old photos, to practically anything you have ever shot!

Here are some of the specifics of the topics and processes we will be covering.

-  Understand the technical concepts behind HDR processing.

-  Determine the particular style of HDR that most suites your eye.

-  Refining and adjusting the Photomatix processing engine to meet your particular HDR style.

-  Become familiar with image bracketing concepts and camera mechanisms for multi exposure HDR shooting.

-  Become proficient and familiar with methods of long exposure shooting including the use of tripods, remote or tethered timers and in-camera timers.

-  Learn how to utilize HDR to save otherwise poor or useless images.

-  Learn techniques for taking a single RAW image and processing it as a multi-image HDR.

-  Learn to generate multiple HDR looks on one subject and combine them in Photoshop to create the look you want.

-  Learn to implement only a portion of an image, such as the clouds, as HDR while leaving the balance of the image alone.

Our workshop will cover all of this in detail and much more as questions and discussion evolve in our group.
